This morning, Juan Pablo and I went to a friends' house for our weekly playgroup. My friend had made banana bread for us to have as a snack. We were hanging around the kitchen, waiting for the bread to cool, and Juan Pablo started to get a little impatient. To show him that a snack was indeed on the way, I picked him up so that he could see the freshly baked loaves of bread cooling in the pans. He looked, and said very excitedly, "Mmm...pan de hombres (men's bread)!"
Why banana bread is so manly, I have no idea. If anyone has any theories, feel free to share them. Juan Pablo even told Jeff this evening that he had eaten "pan de hombres" at playgroup.

Maybe he thought it was Gingerman Bread? That is so cute and funny--I can't wait for Evan to be old enough to comment on things like that!
