Adoption Update: Court Hearing Set!!!

After many unexpected bumps in the road, our adoption process is finally back on track! We received news this afternoon the the court hearing to finalize Ana Luisa's adoption is set for March 31st!

Please pray that we are able to pass court the first time- it is not uncommon for court hearings to have to be rescheduled, and after waiting all this time, it would be very difficult to be stuck waiting again.

In addition, an announcement was recently made by the Ethiopian government that adoptive families will now need to attend their court hearings in person. Because our paperwork was submitted to the courts the day the announcement was made, and the meeting to discuss the details of when this new rule will begin to be implimented is not until Thursday, March 25th, our agency is still not sure if this will apply to us. It seems unlikely, based on a notice posted in the hall of the Federal Court building in Addis that gives April 9th as the date this new policy will be put in place, but it is still a possibility that we will need to travel to Ethiopia for the court hearing. If we do need to travel, this gives us about 3 days to get everything set...yikes!!!

We did also get Juan Pablo's passport in the mail today, so all three of us our now ready to travel if need be. One way or another, we'll pull it off.

St. Joseph, patron saint of families, pray for us!
