Mrs. Chunky

Juan Pablo has really gotten into playing with his Duplos lately. He can spend a long time just building things on his own. Here he is building King Louie and Baloo (from Disney's The Jungle Book) dancing:
Another favorite thing to build is elephants. And preferably lots of them so that they can line up and march in a parade. You can see two of them lined up and ready to go, on the left side of the picture, while Juan Pablo works on a third. He was so focused I couldn't even get him to look up and smile for the camera.
We got the Duplos from friends of ours who had more than they knew what to do with. This little lady made her way into the box:
She's been hanging around with our toys for two years, but a few weeks ago, Juan Pablo finally gave her a name: "Mrs. Chunky".

And this past week, we learned we also have a Miss Chunky in the house. At her doctors appointment, Ana Luisa weighed in at close to four pounds more than she weighed at her first doctor's appointment five weeks ago. Four pounds in five weeks. Not bad, especially when your starting weight is only about 14 pounds.

It's such a blessing to see her so healthy and catching up so quickly, especially after our first few days with her in Ethiopia. We love our little Miss Chunky!
