One year ago today Ana Luisa Bikiltu Pennings officially became a part of our family.
There are still times when I look at her and can't quite believe that she actually made it home. After all the difficulties we had with the orphanage director at her orphanage, and considering how sick she was, it truly is a miracle that she is here with us, and not only that, but healthy and completely caught up developmentally. We are still in awe. Thank you God for such an amazing gift!
We found out a few months ago from our case manager that she was the only one from that orphanage whose case actually completed. While we are beyond thankful, we never want to forget the other children at her orphanage, as well as the other 5 million orphans in Ethiopia who may never know the love, comfort and safety of a family. Please remember to pray for them with us, that they may find comfort in the maternal care of our Blessed Mother, and that God, who is Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5) would bring them hope.

We love this girl so much! That video was hard to watch without joyful crying! I can't watch that video and not want to adopt Ani! She has brought you and your family so much joy. We can't believe how big she is getting and how healthy she is from only a year ago! Praise God for His many blessings.
