Adoption Update: Moving Quickly!

So remember those two documents that were supposed to take 2-3 months to come through? Three weeks after hearing this from our agency, we have them!

This adoption is all happening much more quickly than we had anticipated- a rare phenomenon in adoptionland. And we could not be happier...this means Teresita could be joining our family 2-3 months from now!

The next step: We submit our form to US immigration to have them approve our specific adoption of this child (we've already received our general approval to adopt). This will take about a month or two...although our agency has encouraged us to submit our paperwork with a cover letter asking them to expedite our case because of Teresita's special needs. Once we have our approval, our paperwork will be submitted to the US Embassy in the Congo and they will issue her a visa. This could take anywhere from two weeks to two months...and then we get to bring her home!

Her big brother and sister can't wait. A couple things they have said about her recently...

Juan Pablo: I'm going to run all the way to the Congo to go get Teresita and bring her home!

Ana Luisa: Mama, I heard a sound like, "Ana Luisa, Ana Luisa!" and it was Teresita calling me from the Congo! She wants me to go get her!

Please pray that everything continues to go quickly and smoothly!
