At the end of January (yes, I'm way behind on this blog), we had one of those bizarre 40-something degree days that feel actually warm because they come sandwiched in between long stretches of single-digit temperatures. It was also rainy, and because of all the snow that had just melted, very muddy. But when you have a little boy in the family that loves nothing more than being outside, you need to take advantage of days like this. I sent him out to play with permission to not worry about his clothes (not that he ever really does anyway) and have fun playing in the rain and mud. Every time I looked out the window he was wandering the yard, waving sticks, sitting in the mud, digging, totally absorbed in his own little world. He came in two hours later covered from head to toe in mud and smelling like a swamp. And so, so happy.
What were his sisters doing in the meantime?
(Ana Luisa calls this face her "feminine face". Incidentally, "feminine" is one of her favorite words at the moment.)
Playing princesses of course. This was Teresita's first time wearing dress up clothes, and she was so excited about it. She kept giggling and wanting to go look at herself in the mirror. Looks like Ana Luisa won't have any trouble finding someone to wear feminine clothes and play feminine games and make feminine faces with her in the future.
So cute. All three of them.
