August 2013

Aside from Juan Pablo losing his first tooth, I haven't kept written about any of our adventures since last July...

So we'll start with August.

August was a big month.

Juan Pablo turned 6.
He got a sleeping bag for his birthday...

...which of course meant that he had to go camping.  He and Jeff went camping with friends, and it was the best day/night of Juan Pablo's life.  He came home so happy and said that he sleeps better outside and wants to sleep outside every night.
Of course Ana Luisa wanted to go camping after that, and lucky for us some friends invited Jeff and the older two kids over for a backyard camp-out.
I love this picture.  Friends in pajamas.
Somewhere in there Juan Pablo figured out how to climb up the walls in our house.
And we decided Teresita wasn't really pulling her weight around here and assigned her to dish-washing duty.  Just kidding.  Mealtimes are difficult for her, because sitting down is hard, and she would much rather play with her food than eat it.  She loves playing with water though, and when we discovered that we could actually get her to eat some if we let her stand at the sink after dinner and wash the dishes, we made that a part of our routine.
At the end of August was Natalia and Antoine's wedding! Ana Luisa and Teresita were flower girls.  Although if you ask Ana Luisa she will tell you that she was the flower girl and Teresita was the flower girl's helper.  Ana Luisa handled the whole thing like she had been born for that moment.  Teresita was just thrilled to get to run down the aisle.

And Juan Pablo was a very serious little ring bearer.  The rings fell off the pillow right before he was supposed to walk down the aisle, but he picked them right up, gave them to Jeff to tie back on, and walked down the aisle like a champ.

The wedding was beautiful and we all really enjoyed getting to spend time with extended family.  A great way to close up the summer...
