Case Temporarily Closed

We received news this morning from our adoption agency that the orphanage director failed to come to the court hearing in Addis Ababa today. The judge has temporarily closed our case, and it will be reopened if and when the orphanage director is ready to appear in court.

At this time, we do not know what will happen next. We have told our adoption agency that we are committed to this baby girl, and will wait for her as long as there is hope that the adoption will be finalized. Our agency will do everything they can for us, but they cannot make any guarantees about when, or even if, this will ever be resolved. They are currently taking legal action against the orphanage director for breach of contract in hopes to bring resolution to the two pending adoption cases from this orphanage, but it is unclear what this means or what it will do.

In the meantime, we continue, to wait, hope, and pray that Our Lord, in His Divine Mercy, will allow us to meet our baby girl one day soon.
