We've been working on our basement all summer, and it is now (mostly) finished. We're still missing a few things, like door knobs and a coat of paint on a couple of the doors, but it's at least ready to play in, and the kids have really been enjoying their new, big, carpeted play area.
Earlier today, we went down to the basement to play. I went in the laundry room to check on a couple things, and when I came back out, Juan Pablo and Ana Luisa were sitting next to a toy chest playing with cars together. Juan Pablo said, "Yo me quiero quedar aqui para siempre." ("I want to stay here forever"). I asked, "In the basement?" He looked up at me a little quizzically and said, "No, with Ana Luisa."
Awwwww.
