Please pray that everything goes smoothly. The surgery will start at 7:30am, and will take about four and half hours. Ana Luisa will stay at the hospital overnight, but assuming that she's breathing and eating well, she should be able to come home Wednesday morning.
Having done this once before, we're not as nervous this time around about the actual surgery and hospital stay part of things. The part we're dreading is the recovery. Our little girl is going to be on a liquid diet for a while, which is going to drive her (and us!) crazy since she loves eating anything and everything. She also can't drink out of a sippy cup or bottle (nothing hard in her mouth!) for six weeks after surgery, which will most likely be frustrating as well. And messy.
I know this is a little weird, but we thought it was hilarious that we actually got a "before" picture of her palate:
