Little Princess

Ana Luisa is a girly girl. Sure she can make dinosaur roaring noises. And shoot a basketball while yelling "She shoots she scores!" She also enjoys splashing in mud puddles. Her big brother has taught her well.

But she also loves to wear any jewelery she can get her hands on:

She loves to play dress-up...even if it's just using whatever she can find in the laundry basket:

When she gets a new outfit, she can't wait to try it on:

She also loves to cuddle her dolls in her little rocking chair and sing them lullabies. She loves to cook in her little kitchen, and to help me when I clean the house. She is sweet and affectionate, loves giving kisses and hugs, and is already a little nurturer, rushing to comfort Juan Pablo by stroking his head and giving him kisses whenever he is hurt or upset.

And now she has some new girly bling to get excited about:
A couple weeks ago, Ana Luisa got her ears pierced! We had wanted to get her ears pierced for a while, but had to wait until after her surgeries since we would need to take any jewelery off during her hospital stay. It's also hard to make it to the store during the hours when they have two assistants working so that they can pierce both ears at once. But we finally made it, and when I asked if she wanted earrings like mama, she of course said yes. Being the drama queen that she is, she started screaming as soon as they began to wipe her ears with the alcohol swabs. She continued to scream as they drew a dot on each ear to make sure the earrings would be symmetrical. She screamed as the two assistants positioned their ear piercing guns. But then just one little poke on each side, and she stopped crying as soon as it was done. She actually looked surprised, as if to say, "Oh, is that all they were going to do?" Of course the yellow sucker she they gave her sweetened the deal. And now she has teeny tiny gold studs that somehow make her look even more feminine and adorable. So cute. That's our little princess.

Ana Luisa looks adorable with her new pierced earrings and we are impressed with Juan Pablo's decision to self-transition to the big-boy room .... but where is the time going?? They are growing up!!! With love and a warm embrace to all four of you.
