The Princess's New Clothes

In my last post I mentioned that whenever Ana Luisa gets a new outfit, she can't wait to try it on.

We did a little shopping earlier this week, and she came home with big girl underwear and rain boots. The result?
This was her outfit for the next couple hours until I finally insisted she remove the boots and put on a diaper for naptime. She is a very funny little girl.

And to clarify, the underwear purchase was just for fun...it's much more of a toy or dress-up clothes at this point. Ana Luisa is definitely not ready to potty train yet. She loves the idea of using the potty and wearing underwear because that's what her big brother does and of course she wants to be just like him. She also actually uses the potty whenever she gets to wear her big girl underwear... but that's only because she claims that she needs to go about every two minutes, which means we spend about 90% of the time that she is wearing underwear sitting in the bathroom. It's especially fun if Juan Pablo joins in.

So as much as I enjoy hanging out in the bathroom, for now wearing underwear remains a special treat, something she can do when we don't have much else to do.

And just because she's so cute, here is Ana Luisa wearing her new t-shirt that Tia Padu bought her on a recent trip to visit Tio Sebas is Boston.

Of course when you're wearing a cute new t-shirt, you need to do a crazy dance with your big brother, who drew eyebrows and a mustache on himself with (washable, thankfully!) markers and who insists on wearing something red every day even though it doesn't match the rest of his outfit just because that is his favorite color.
